Our Hotel.
The Australian Hotel Hungduan (AHH), located along Bulanan Highway in Hapao, Hungduan, Ifugao, Philippines, opened in April 2024. This five-story hotel features 35 rooms, each offering panoramic views of the Hapao Rice Terraces. Known as the "stairways to the sky," these ancient terraces are a stunning testament to the ingenuity of the Ifugao people. AHH provides a comfortable, immersive stay, offering guests the chance to experience the beauty and culture of this historic region.
The AHH monogram logo is inspired by the Hapao Rice Terraces, symbolising the "Stairway to the Sky." It captures the essence of this iconic landscape, reflecting both heritage and elevation in its elegant design.

The new logo of Australian Hotel Hungduan beautifully reflects the owner's deep connection to both the province of Hungduan and Australia. Growing up in Hungduan before migrating to Australia, the owner has seamlessly blended the vibrant spirit of Australia with the timeless beauty and cultural heritage of their homeland. The kangaroo symbolises the strength and resilience of Australia, while the green and yellow colours represent the land’s warmth and energy. At the heart of the logo is the Hapao Rice Terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage site that represents the rich history, sustainability, and enduring traditions of Hungduan. This logo is a tribute to the family’s heritage, embodying both the Australian spirit and the proud legacy of Hungduan, offering a unique experience for all guests who visit.
Our Founder.
Founded in 2024 by Norma Gano, our hotel and restaurant is the realisation of a dream that began in Hungduan. As a teenager, Norma envisioned a way to honour her roots and share the beauty of her hometown with the world. After moving to Australia, she pursued a nursing career, built a home, and raised six Aussie born children—all while holding onto her promise to return and give back to her community. After fifty years of dedication and love for her heritage, she fulfilled that promise with the opening of the hotel in 2024, built on land once owned by her late father, Teofilo Gano.
